Purpose: the Index of Learning Styles in an on-line instrument used to assess preferences on four dimensions (active/reflective, sensing/intuitive, visual/verbal, and sequential/global) of a learning style model. By completing this tool students are able to gauge the way they learn best. The (ILS) is formulated by Richard M. Felder and Linda K. Silverman, it was developed by Richard M. Felder and Barbara A. Soloman of North Carolina State University.
Level: this tool is considered useful for high school and university level students, simply because the questions are too complex for lower level students.
Quality: it falls into the high level of quality due the information gathered from the detail of the questions.
